(Dandelion Chai Winter Tea)

There have been times when I believe that coffee is one of the best beverages on Earth.

Like many, I prefer organic fair trade types, mixed with Lion’s Mane and other healthy tonics such as raw organic local honey, or in the winter ~ maple syrup.

Sometimes, I will mix two types of tea (black English breakfast tea and organic green tea) for a soothing, less ‘stimulating’ variety of beverage. In the cooler seasons, more exotic teas might find their way into my kitchen.

For winter months when coffee seems too much, or to wind down from stress, a simple recipe can work wonders on the body, mind and spirit.

Roasted Dandelion Root tea from Traditional Medicinals is wonderful, robust, and deeply calming. It has a caramel flavor, and it reminds me of hot chocolate. It’s hard to describe, and better to simply make and enjoy.

Recipe:

Boil water or use an electric kettle

Add the Dandelion tea bag to a high narrow colorful cup

Steep

Add a dash of ground Ginger and Turmeric spice

(one can mix these prior in a spice jar for a handy go to)

Add a bit of raw honey and maple syrup

mix

Add a bit of whole milk, hemp or almond milk

Stir and Enjoy

Maybe it’s not what we think but how we think that is important. “Go Forsythia!” (the introvert’s version of sports).
